How many times do you say this, “Yeah, I would love to get together with you. Let’s do lunch sometime.”
The big question is, do you actually DO it? I don’t know if Californians hold the patent on this behavior and I suspect they don’t, but I experience it most often here. Perhaps it is the transitory nature of the Bay Area, the beauty of the weather that calls us to be “out and about”. Too many choices? Short Silicon Valley attention spans? Who knows why we don’t ever really make lunch happen.
Here is what I do know. What we do with our time reflects what matters to us. Each and every day, we choose how we spend this VERY precious time we are given.
If you want to get together with friends and family, a new person you just met and enjoyed…invite them to lunch, get out your calendars, make a plan and let them know you look forward to spending that precious time with them. Conversely, if you don’t want to waste your time, be true to yourself and choose carefully who you invite to “lunch”.
